The mornings are brisk, football is rolling, and there’s a line outside Lucy in Disguise With Diamonds. All signs that Halloween is upon us! This weekend, we recommend world music in the park, a birthday celebration in benefit of an amazing charity, and a spooktacular assemblage of local soul, country, and Americana greats. Break out your Matthew McConaughey in “Dazed and Confused” costume, head out on the town and–as always–listen local!

KUTX Live at Mueller w/Brownout, Kupira Marimba
@ Mueller Lake Park (4550 Mueller Blvd.) – 7 p.m. – Free
Stunning weather in a beautiful park with amazing music? What’s not to love? The Austin icons of Brownout join local marimba marvels for an evening of diverse sounds from KUTX. Brownout started as a Latin Black Sabbath cover band with members from Grupo Fantasma, but it’s grown into a sound of its own. Peppering cumbia, funk, and samba into a psych-rock stew, Brownout is a force to be reckoned with. Paired with Kupira’s lively, uplifting marimbas, and you have a lineup custom made for a sun-drenched Friday evening.
