No matter which fitness activity you’re into, there’s a organization to scratch the itch. But what if you’re a hockey fan? Austin’s 100-degree summers are unkind to ice. And unless you grew up around the stuff, strapping on skates can be daunting. X Games and Austin Share a Sweet Goodbye
Since 2014, ESPN X Games and Austin have been a committed couple. But every relationship, no matter how sweet, eventually comes to an end, and so ESPN recently announced its search for a new 2017–2018 host city. While X Games Vice President Tim Reed said he “wouldn’t rule out” a return, he stated that a later summer date would mean the Austin venue was just too darn hot for spectators and athletes.

You’re in for Big Air and High Speed at X Games Austin 2015
In 2014, more than 160,000 fans poured into Circuit of The Americas for Austin’s inaugural X Games. Though ESPN doesn’t release numbers, Tim Reed, Vice President of ESPN X Games, labeled the event a success: “Austin was a great fit–music, culture, lifestyle–for action sports.” And now X Games is back in town for its second year, and these upcoming four days will be epic.
