Cedar Park is finally earning a place on the map as a food and beverage destination. Northwest of Austin, you’ll find quality restaurants, bars, and local businesses setting up shop. Whitestone Brewery is one such business, and business is good. After visiting this neighborhood brewery, I can see why Whitestone is growing a base of loyal customers.
Passion for Beer
Not only is Whitestone Brewery passionate about the beer it serves, but the team is passionate about the entire customer experience. Whitestone wants you to come in, get comfortable, and enjoy the company of others. And while you’re at it, drink a pint or two.
The space is wide open, with plenty of seating inside and out. The outdoor patio has fans for hot days. Twinkling lights appear at nighttime, creating a relaxing yet boisterous atmosphere. Whitestone is a place to unwind at the end of the day with friends or watch sports on the weekend.
Warm Atmosphere
I first visited Whitestone Brewery on a Friday evening. I had worked all week and was in the mood for some socializing. This was the perfect spot for a friend and me to unwind, and catch up with one another.
The atmosphere was lively and nearly every table was filled. A good sign, right? It wasn’t overly packed, so we didn’t have to wait at the bar. And there was really good music playing. (Bonus points in my book.)
More Than Just Brew
Even though Whitestone is a brewery, a variety of alcoholic beverages are available, including local favorites. You can find Meridian Hive Mead, Austin Eastciders, and Argus Cidery. There is also a selection of wines.
The tap room is open seven days a week. The beer list is impressive, with six year-round brews on tap, plus seasonal selections.
Year-round brews include:
- Konverter – Kolsch
- Cedrela – Hefeweizen
- Lone Gone – Blonde
- Lovely Day – IPA
- Boondoggle – Brown
- Grandaddy – Porter
Don’t forget about the daily specials:
- Before 5 p.m. – $4 select pints
- 5-7 p.m. – $13 select pitchers
- Tuesdays – 25 percent off to-go beer
- Saturdays and Sundays – BOGO 50 percent off crawlers and growlers until 5 p.m.
Whitestone Brewery Pub Club
If you aren’t in the mood to sit at the brewery, you can take your beer to-go. You can purchase either a 64- or 32-ounce growler (pricing is extremely reasonable). If you want a larger quantity, you can place a keg order.
Whitestone also has a Pub Club. Cost is $75 for the first year and $50 for every year after. As a Pub Club member, you receive:
- 20-ounce Pub Club mug
- $0.50 off all full pour beers
- 10 percent off all merchandise
- Access to new beers a day earlier than the general public
- 50 percent off beers on your birthday
- Official beer taster treatment
Food Truck, Live Music, More
Most days of the week, a local food truck parks outside near the patio. Tryst ATX and Garbo’s frequent often. Monday night is pizza night. And if you’re a trivia fan, Whitestone hosts Geeks Who Drink on Wednesday evenings.
Live music is usually on Saturday night. You can even hang out on the patio and play corn hole. Head over to Whitestone’s website for the full schedule of events.
