Classic Game Fest: More Than a Trip Down Memory Lane

When COVID-19 hit in March of 2020, it devoured events like a termite chews through wood. The rash of cancellations made sense given the seriousness of the pandemic, but it still stung thousands of organizers, venue owners, and attendees. Classic Game Fest, a yearly celebration of all things retro videogames, was one of the casualties.

Now with the pandemic slowed and restrictions lifted, Classic Game Fest is on with no limitations to the fun. Bigger than ever before in both size and scope, this love letter to the games of old offers something for everybody. Whether you’re an NES junkie or an Atari nerd, there’s something for everyone this year.

For Vol Montgomery, the answer doesn’t have to do with profit or development, but with preservation and passion. The owner of Reveille Peak Ranch is actively creating a unique community for his friends and family, and those who share his interests.

On most days, Reveille Peak Ranch is a specially-designed haven for a small subset of outdoor sports enthusiasts: mountain bikers, trail runners and scuba divers. Hook ’em baby! This Saturday is the Explore UT Open House!

That’s right folks the University of Texas is opening its doors to the world. Touted as “The Biggest Open House In Texas” on the UT website, this event is sure to please.

People of all ages will be descending upon the UT Campus Saturday March 3rd from 11am-5pm to explore all that UT has to offer.

But this is more than just an open house… so read on Longhorn fanatic and get ready to get immersed in some burnt orange culture.

UT is huge, and there are so many things to see on Saturday that even though the official open house starts at 11, the activities really start at 9am.
