Bringing in the New Year wouldn’t be the same without a fireworks show, but as everyone knows, 2021 has turned our world upside down and led to the cancellation of many major events.
But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here is where you may light up your New Year’s Eve with fireworks.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Austin – What to Expect?
The City of Austin will ring in the New Year with a stunning fireworks display this year. The City of Austin places considerable emphasis on public safety during special events, and we’ll be extra cautious on New Year’s Eve to avoid post-holiday crowds. The park will be devoid of city-sponsored events, vendors, and entertainment. Austin’s New Year’s Eve 2021 will include solely fireworks.
When: Friday, December 31, 2021, at 10:00 p.m.

How much: Free.

Road Closures for Firework Fall Out Zones
For safety purposes, Lady Bird Lake between both the railroad trestle bridge and the S. 1st St. bridge would be shut from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Road closures for fireworks fallout zones begin at 8 p.m. and may begin prior to the commencement of the event.
In the region, only employees who deal with fireworks are allowed. Below is a map of the road closures. No later than midnight, all roadways will be reopened.

Riverside Drive will be closed completely between Lee Barton and S. 1st Street at 8:00 p.m.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m., the 1st St Bridge will be closed completely by 9:30 p.m.
