Juneteenth Events Austin 2025
Central Texas’ 27th Annual Juneteenth Celebration

Austin’s 27th Annual Juneteenth Celebration returns on Thursday, June 19, 2025, with the theme “Celebrating Freedom, Culture, and Community”. The day starts at 10 a.m. with a parade from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Salina Street, ending around noon at Rosewood Park. Afterward, Rosewood and Boggy Creek Park will host food, vendors, kids’ entertainment, and live music, including acclaimed southern soul artist Young Guy. The celebration concludes with fireworks at 9 p.m.

Where: Parade starts in East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Chicon Street, proceeding to Rosewood Park at Chestnut Avenue and Rosewood Avenue.

ACC’s 2025 Juneteenth Celebration
Join Austin Community College District’s (ACC) 2025 Juneteenth Celebration on Wednesday, June 18, at the Eastview Campus. Hosted by the ACC’s African American Cultural Center, the communitywide Juneteenth celebration will include music, games, giveaways, and more. This event is free and open to the public.

Juneteenth Remembrance Ceremony
Join us at the George Washington Carver Museum on Thursday for a remembrance ceremony as we honor our ancestors and come together in solidarity. On Juneteenth proper, we gather in unity to honor victims of violence in Texas and create a safe space for communal mourning and grieving as it relates to the ongoing fight for Black liberation.
We invite the community to gather in the museum lobby to help elevate the spirit of our fallen sisters, brothers, and non-binary community members. Join us in song, prayer, and meditation as we honor our Black ancestors and gather our strength to continue the pursuit of liberation.

Hella Free: The Juneteenth Function
Hella Free is a Juneteenth function presented by Cat Records and the Austin Justice Coalition at Empire Garage. The show features music by DJ P Funk, DJ DK, Big Champ the God, DJ Crash, Rikki the DJ, and TV 2 Clean. Come out for a night of free music, culture, and community, as concert-goers celebrate freedom and Black excellence in style.

Juneteenth Concert
Juneteenth commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas. Grab a lawn chair or picnic blanket and join the Wells Branch MUD Recreation Department as we host our annual Juneteenth Celebration, featuring an amazing musical performance by a spectacular band! The concert will be held at the Community Center Courtyard. This is a free family event and will be held inside the Community Center in the case of inclement weather.

Travis County’s 36th Annual Juneteenth Celebration

Mark your calendar for Travis County’s 36th Annual Juneteenth Celebration! This year’s theme is “Still We Rise. Celebrating the Journey with Power and Purpose.” It’ll be held Friday, June 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. underneath the parking garage at 800 Lavaca St. Everyone, including Travis County employees and the general public, is invited! Please bring your family and friends to enjoy a day of fun, fellowship, and the celebration of freedom.
