Veterans Day Ceremony at Leander
Gather at Veterans Park in Leander to honor current and former members of the U.S. military.

The parade begins at Congress Avenue Bridge at 9 a.m. and heads toward the Texas Capitol, where the day’s tributes continue.
Stop by the Veterans Resource Event on the Capitol’s South Steps at 10 a.m., then stay for the Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m.

Veterans Day Heroes & Hot Rods Car Show (Bastrop)

Classic cars, community pride, and tributes to military service come together at the Bastrop Area Cruisers’ 20th annual Heroes & Hot Rods event.
Festivities begin Friday evening with a cruise-in on historic Main Street, where you can check out the cars rolling into downtown and chat with their owners. On Saturday, the car show fills Main Street and nearby areas with vehicles, alongside a Veterans Tribute March and ceremony honoring those who have served or are currently serving in the military.
Saturday’s schedule includes car check-in from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Veterans Tribute March at 10:30 a.m., and the tribute ceremony at 11 a.m.
The silent auction closes at 1 p.m., judging wraps up at 1:30 p.m., and the awards ceremony takes place at 3 p.m.
More than 75% of event proceeds primarily support local and Central Texas veterans’ organizations, with the remainder benefiting automotive technology scholarships and other local charities.

Veterans Day Parade in San Marcos
Show your appreciation for America’s veterans at the annual San Marcos Veterans Day Parade, organized by the city with support from the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.
This year’s parade is scheduled for November 7 and carries the theme “Honoring All Who Served the United States of America.” Expect a community celebration featuring participating veterans’ groups, military organizations, civic clubs, bands, drill teams, public officials, equestrians, youth teams, and classic vehicles.

Veterans Day Under the Stars: Sgt. Stubby Outdoor Movie Night
Spend Veterans Day outdoors with the family at this community gathering hosted by the Leander VFW and the Leander Arts and Film Alliance.
The evening opens with a remembrance ceremony honoring local veterans and a color guard presentation by a high school ROTC unit before everyone settles in for Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero.
Based on the true story of a stray dog who became a decorated World War I hero, the film offers a family-friendly way to introduce younger moviegoers to a piece of military history.
Gates open at 5 p.m., so arrive early to claim a spot with your blanket or lawn chairs. Hot dogs, popcorn, and cold drinks will be available to purchase, and dressing for the weather will help you enjoy the outdoor screening.

Veterans Day Freedom Run 5K/10K/13.1 AUSTIN/ROUNDROCK

Kyle Veterans Day Parade and Market Days

Head to downtown Kyle on November 14 for the city’s annual Veterans Day Parade, a community tradition honoring the men and women who have served the country.
The parade starts at 11:45 a.m. near Gregg-Clarke Park and travels east along Center Street before finishing at Front Street on the City Square.
For a good viewing spot, choose a place along Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson Park.
Plan to arrive early: Center Street, from Ramirez Street to just past Front Street. These streets will close to traffic at 11:30 a.m. and remain closed until the parade has passed. Follow posted detours and watch from the sidewalks or grassy areas rather than stepping into the street.
