How to Get To-Go Beer From That Austin Brewery You’re Missing

March 30, 2020 by James Lipari 2 Comments

Austin Brewery Beer To-Go

With all of this newfound time on most of our hands, you may be doing all the right things like catching up on housecleaning, reading that book you’ve been meaning to get to, or simply plowing through your watch list. However you’re spending your time, you certainly shouldn’t have to face this situation without a local beer in hand. Who ever heard of a shut-in without beer? Pssshh. Not a chance!

In all seriousness, Austin breweries and brewpubs are among the hardest hit businesses amid this crisis. BUT KNOW THIS: NEARLY ALL OF THEM ARE OPEN FOR BEER TO-GO! If they serve their own food or have a food truck, then they’re almost certainly offering take-out food, as well.

These are the people who take care of us in good times, and we really need to take care of them during this not-so-good time. We want them all to be open once we Austinites get back to being our social selves.

Fresh Brewery Beer Available

While we anxiously await the return to a lively taproom vibe, we don’t have to go without the beer itself. The options available at each Austin location differ. And with the fluidity of the situation, all details are subject to change.

Also note that many breweries are operating under reduced hours. But some already have online ordering systems in place and most have curbside pickup, so you can keep that distance.

You Can Help

The best way to help is to continue to buy the things you love from Austin’s small, local businesses. Nearly all of them are selling gift cards and merchandise, as well.

The big companies will make it through, and MillerBud will unfortunately still be a thing. However, we want our thriving Austin beer community to be fully intact, filled with all the familiar faces that have become as much a part of the experience as the beer itself.

Consider Signing This Petition

Texas Craft Brewers Guild has started a petition to ask Governor Abbott to implement emergency measures that support craft brewers throughout the state. The key component is allowing Texas breweries and brewpubs to deliver directly to your door! Everybody wins. Want to be a winner? Click the petition and sign it here.
