For the past six years, this Austin business has operated by appointment only, creating fun, funky and earthy botanical designs like living walls, interior plantscapes and sustainable landscape design. You may recognize their work at Whole Foods Market or The Four Seasons Residences.
Now, Articulture Designs has a boutique and event space with over 2,200 square feet of awesomeness. The south Austin location features home decor items, gifts and one-of-a-kind creations.
Inspired by Nature, Always
I’m pretty sure Mother Nature’s home base is the boutique at Articulture Designs. You can’t miss the bright green building with purple trimmed windows. Once inside, you’ll be entranced by the displays of terrariums, orbs, wall hooks, plant designs and living walls.
You’ll want to take the time to notice the detail in the pieces as you enjoy the open, airy space. I’m certain you will also want to create some of these treasures yourself after being inspired by what you’ve seen. Don’t worry; you can. Just purchase a hanging aerium orb kit or terrarium kit to set your inner artist free.
This unique shop has one-of-a-kind gifts for the person in your life who has everything. These are not your basic succulent terrariums kits, but truly works of art for someone special. If you have a tough time deciding on a specific one, you can’t go wrong with a gift certificate.
As you start thinking about places within your home or office that need extra accessorizing, Articulture Designs also creates custom pieces to match your vision.
Playtime, Anyone?
After enjoying the indoor showroom, step outside to find landscape plants, outdoor vessels and outdoor seating options. You’ll also find yourself in an event space that is organic and magical. The surprising outdoor area is on three quarters of an acre and is truly delightful. Large, shady trees, and a comfortable sitting area with white string lights and circles of green grass are laid out before you. One of my favorite features is an oversized wooden tree swing begging you to give it a try.
Venue Space Available
If you’re looking for an event or wedding venue that is lush and green in the heart of Austin, put this place on your list. Its ethereal forest-like feel lends itself to romance under the Texas stars. That tree swing is the perfect spot for a few bride and groom photos, and there’s even a place for the band to set up a stage.
If you aren’t planning a wedding or event, you can still enjoy this outdoor space by attending Forrest Yoga in the Garden. Forrest Yoga is an Eastern practice that is founded on breath, strength, integrity and spirit. The natural, peaceful space at Articulture Designs seems like a wonderful place to revive your soul and find some zen.
Planning Your Visit to Articulture Designs
You’ll enjoy this gem in south Austin, and may even find something to take home. There are a couple things to know before your visit to Articulture Designs. They are closed on Mondays. Tuesday through Saturday, you can visit between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday visits should be between 11 a.m. and 5.pm.
While I’m not known around my house for having a green thumb, I’m pretty sure I could nurture a tiny little succulent terrarium just fine.
