Carnivores, pescatarians, and vegetarians have all given their stamp of approval to Hopdoddy. Not only does this Austin staple serve a killer burger, but the milkshakes and cocktails are outstanding, as well. And this just in: Hopdoddy is cooking up new plates for 2018. The just-released menu features several new shakes and a “shareables” section with diverse fry flavors.
I had a chance to try the new items out (and loved everything). I would say, “read on to learn more,” but I’m mostly going to let the photos do the talking here.
Thank you to Hopdoddy for hosting me for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own.
What’s New at Hopdoddy?
Hopdoddy has whipped up a breakfast burger for the first time! What started out as a special during April 2018 is here to stay. This breakfast patty is a delicious mix of sausage, ham, and beef, topped off with bacon, potato hay, and an egg patty. I promise, it’s easily one of the best breakfast burgers you will ever have.
All the Fries
The “shareables” section of the menu introduces green chile queso fries, Buffalo fries, hot honey and sage fries, and chili cheese fries. Each mound comes in a giant bowl, reinforcing that it’s meant to be shared. But no judgement if you keep all the fries to yourself! I know I did…

Shakin’ Things Up
If you’re a fan of Hopdoddy’s delectable shakes, then rejoice! The kitchen has concocted four new shakes:
- The s’mores shake brings everything you love about the delicious campfire snack to fruition, in the form of a rich milkshake.
- The strawberry shortcake shake is a nice, fruity addition to the menu, loaded with strawberries and shortbread cookie pieces.
- The bananas foster shake does justice to the much-loved dessert that inspired it.
- The birthday cake shake is a solid replacement to traditional cake.
New Cocktails
The menu also features a few new cocktails. The pineapple daiquiri is a punchy, surprisingly refreshing drink for summer days.
The 3 whiskey L.I.T. takes the classic drink up a notch by adding two whiskeys to the standard mix.
Sparkling Pamplejousse is a rosé and grapefruit liquor-based drink that’ll make you feel as fancy as its name.
Grab Your Keys Right Now
I’m surprised y’all are still reading! I would’ve been out the door aften the headline. I joke–it’s absolutely fine if you’re still here. Hopdoddy’s new menu is worth a visit (maybe a couple, to get through all the new entries). I enjoyed trying almost every addition, and left feeling full and happy. Hope y’all enjoy the food as much as I did!
