Kiddoo and the Dude w/Big Britches

@ Stubb’s Indoors (801 Red River St.)

Circus rockers Kiddoo and the Dude bring their brand of vaudevillian mayhem to Stubb’s Indoors this Friday. Behind the trampolines, wacky costumes, and lead singer Mike Kiddoo’s over-the-top theatrics, lies head-rocking rock and roll straight from the Baroque period. The definition of Austin weird. Also performing is ATX party band, Big Britches, the head trip rock of Bahamacide, and prog rockers, No, I’m the Leader.

Mother Falcon Music Lab Scholarship Fundraiser Festival w/Jackie Venson, Sometimes a Legend, AllRhythms

@ The ABGB (1305 W. Oltorf St.) – 3 p.m.

Despite national tours and NPR Tiny Desk concerts, Mother Falcon continues to keep their collective heart firmly planted in Austin. Case in point: The Mother Falcon Music Lab, a program designed to cultivating collaborative creativity in young local musicians.

Along with the band, this Saturday’s fundraising festival at The ABGB will feature performances from guitar virtuoso, Jackie Venson, electronic indie pop act, Sometimes a Legend, and students from AllRythmns, a local music education program. Fine music for an exceptional cause.

Carson McHone w/Charlie Mars and John Gaar

@ Saxon Pub (1320 S. Lamar Blvd.) – 11 p.m.

A sensational blend of country twang and southern blues, Carson McHone continues to make her mark on the local Austin scene. Songs like “Dram Shop Gal” showcase her heartfelt, soulful vocals, while “Maybe They’re Just Really Good Friends” ups the tempo to a classic boot-scootin’ two-step. Classic country with a modern edge is the hallmark of Caron McHone’s sound and makes her a must-see artist.

Also playing are singer/songwriter Charlie Mars (9 p.m.) and roots rocker John Gaar (6 p.m.).
