Another week, another weekend of killer music. As Texas slowly rises from the personal rubble of the pandemic, our local music scene continues to provide great entertainment with perfect social distancing. As always, continue to share links and and support financially if you’re able. Oh yeah, and listen local!

The Bright Light Social Hour w/SIMS Lounge Present: Sofa Sessions
Streaming on Facebook Live @ 6 p.m.
Don’t sleep on SIMS. The local nonprofit has been providing daily doses of live stream goodness all month and this Thursday is no exception. Austin’s premier rock/psych/whatever-they-feel-like band’s “Jude Vol. 1” was one of my favorite records of 2019, so the chance to see some of it live on stream makes me giddy.
A wonderful band playing for an unbelievable cause, in support of Mental Heath Month. Make time to check The Bright Light Social Hour out!

BettySoo
Streaming Live on Facebook @ 1 p.m.
An Austin musical treasure, BettySoo has been lending her incredible vocals to acts like Charlie Faye & the Fayettes and most recently Austin super-group Nobody’s Girl. Her solo work runs the gambit from sunny day acoustic tunes to full-bodied southern rock. Hopefully she’ll play selections from all her iterations during what’s sure to be a rad stream.

Beat Root Revival
Streaming live on Facebook @ 5 p.m.
If you haven’t experienced the world music duo Beat Root Revival, then you’ve been missing out. This furious blend of bodhran, acoustic guitar, and stunning vocals brings to mind images of Irish jigs and European celebrations. The stripped-down setting of a live stream should serve the duo’s sound well. Turn up the speakers, grab a pint, and prepare to be blown away by an Austinot favorite.
