Why All About Vapor Is Austin’s Best Vaporizer Shop

August 8, 2013 by Eric Highland 12 Comments

Sonic Screwdriver looks like a vaporizer

This would make a very cool vaporizer mod kit

You’ve seen these gadgets all over Austin. They almost look like Dr. Who’s Sonic Screwdriver, only people are puffing on them and releasing a cloud of scented vapor, right? Well they’re called vaporizers (poorly referred to as e-cigarettes). And though they can’t pick locks, perform medical scans or track alien life, they are most certainly all the rage.

Whether you’re just curious about vaping or you’re a seasoned vaper, you’ll be glad to know that Austin is now home to one of the premier vapor shops in the entire country: All About Vapor. [Read more…]

Kome is mostly famous for their fresh, delicious, sushi. With the surge in ramen popularity, however, they opened up a ramen-only “sister” restaurant called Daruma this year (review forthcoming). [Read more…]

Can’t Make It to Naples This Week? Try House Pizzeria

House Pizzeria on Airport Blvd. in AustinEditor’s Note: House Pizzeria closed on Sept. 24, 2017.

When you want to find a new restaurant, you come to The Austinot. But when we want to find a new restaurant, where can we go for help? We rely a lot on word of mouth, tracking the buzz around town. But, admittedly, we have been known to reference Yelp for customer-sourced reviews and recommendations.

On one such day, Austinot Eric had a desperate craving for pizza. Everyone knows about Home Slice in SoCo, and we also love Little Deli in Crestview, but we wanted to try something new. Through Yelp, we discovered [Read more…]

If you’ve been looking for the best burgers in Austin, you’ve come to the right place. This post is part of a series on The Austinot.

All the posts in this series start with “Search for the Best Burger Joint in Austin” in the title. Remember, I’m looking at not only the burgers, but the experience as a whole.

You’ll always get an honest take on the burger joints that I’ve visited. I’m not on any burger joint’s payroll. Agree or disagree, I’d love to hear your thoughts. [Read more…]

Kick Butt Coffee Closed In Triangle; Still Kickin On Airport

March 26, 2012 by Dustin Vegas 16 Comments

In the words of Douglas Adams: “Don’t panic.” Kick Butt Coffee is not closed for good. It just left The Triangle and went back to its roots.

Kick Butt Coffee’s empty space in The Triangle stands out like a missing tooth. The coffee shop’s here-today-gone-tomorrow departure has left a lot of people scratching their heads: “Is the business gone forever?”

Thankfully, the answer is no. Kick Butt Coffee’s Triangle location is gone, due to unfortunate financial circumstances. However, their Airport Blvd. location remains all the more kickin’.

I first wandered into the doors of Kick Butt Coffee on Airport almost three years ago. I was in the throes of a hard night’s [Read more…]
