The egg hunts are finally here, and Austin is packed with everything from massive community gatherings to unique brewery hunts. Whether you’re chasing down 500 candy-filled eggs or enjoying a post-hunt craft beer, today is the day to get out and celebrate.

Expect a cloudy day with a high of 66°F and a low of 54°F. While the chance of rain is low at 10%, those northeast winds at 13 mph might make the morning feel a bit crisp—bring a light jacket for the outdoor hunts!

This is a quick summary of the top events happening today; for a complete list, check out our article on Easter Egg Hunt Events Austin 2026.

Today’s Easter Egg Hunt event Highlights in Austin

The morning kicks off with a community favorite at Bethany United Methodist Church, where the festivities start with a free brunch from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. This is a fantastic all-in-one stop for families, featuring designated hunt zones for every age group from infants to high schoolers, starting at 10:00 am. Make sure to arrive early for the 9:00 am service if you want to snag a spot near the playground for the little ones, and don’t miss the Easter Bunny visit in the Fellowship Hall!

If you’re looking for a more high-energy farm experience, Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is hosting hunts every half hour starting at 10:00 am. They’ve moved the hunt to a massive field in the Woods West area, where kids can trade wooden eggs for full bags of candy. Pro tip: because these hunts are capped at 75 kids each, they rarely feel overcrowded, but you should aim to arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled slot to navigate the farm parking.

For the grown-ups, Blue Owl Brewing is hosting an adult-only hunt from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Your ticket gets you two beer pours and a chance to search the brew space for hidden eggs filled with prizes. It’s a smaller, more intimate venue, so it’s the perfect way to spend a chill Easter afternoon without the chaos of the larger parks.

What to Expect Today – Sunday, April 5, 2026 in Austin

Expect heavy traffic and “reach capacity” warnings at Travis County parks today, so if you’re heading to a park-based hunt, arrive significantly earlier than the start time. Be aware of utility-related closures on East Avenue (near I-35 and Nash Hernandez Sr. Rd) and remember that Deep Eddy Pool is currently closed for annual maintenance. Parking near central events like the OWANA neighborhood area will be tight; consider carpooling or using rideshare to avoid circling the block.
