Haunted ATX: Austin Streets in Spooky Ride with Freaky Facts

Haunted ATX Hearse

Chris English and the Haunted ATX hearse

Guest article by Kendra Wright

There are multiple ways to experience the weird side of Austin. You can cruise the streets via a Segway, you can catch a ride in a real life Mystery Machine, and now the Austinot has discovered yet another unforgettable approach to exploring our city…and it’s unlike any way you’ve ever seen it before.

What if I told you your next great adventure involves riding in a hearse driven by a blood drawing Phlebotomist and planting your butt checks on the same seat Carl from The Walking Dead once used?

Interested? Read on.

Chris English is a full time dad, a former Phlebotomist and the owner of Haunted ATX — the only haunted mobile tour of Austin. He brings home the bacon by cruising through the spooky spots of Austin in a classic ’92 Cadillac hearse that has been converted into a luxury limousine.

Haunted ATX gives customers the experience of a lifetime – the opportunity to ride in a hearse in a way they can actually enjoy it…vertically!

Austinites (and even celebs such as Chandler Riggs – Carl from The Walking Dead – and his family) have been spotted parking their booty in the back of this creepy Cadillac.

Fly Ride and Freaky Facts

Forget hoofing it around the city in the Texas heat. Round up a handful of your favorite adventure friendly pals, grab a six pack of your favorite local beer and climb in the back of an air conditioned hearse. With a gorgeous U-shaped seating arrangement and creepy video cameras peeking out the windows, you won’t miss a thing as you see the city from a whole new perspective.

Haunted ATX Tours

Haunted ATX takes you on a tour of half a dozen Austin locations

But the quirky form of transportation is only one part of the Haunted ATX experience.

The tour will take you to half a dozen of the spookiest spots around the city in a fun and inspiring way. Chris gives his passengers a quick tour packed full of fun facts and the paranormal history of each location.

Keepin’ It Creepy Year Round

As the temps drop and we all gear up to get extra weird during the month of October, our bravery boils to the surface. But if your schedule is packed with too many freak shows and Halloween adventures – no worries – Chris keeps it creepy year round!

You can also use Haunted ATX’s services for weddings, bachelorette/bachelor parties, over the hill celebrations, retirement shindigs and any other weird occasion that allows you to work a hearse into your evening. Uhhh, fun first date, anyone?

Protip: Minimum party size is two people. So you’re going to need at least one freaky friend to accompany you. If you ask real nicely, Chris may even pick your party up from your own front door. Freaking your neighbors out is included for free.

Kendra enjoys brownies from the center of the pan and dominating her bucket list. When she isn’t hunting down all the weirdest adventures in Austin, she’s writing words at HeyKendra.com.

@freehighfives asks:

Are you brave enough to experience Austin in the back seat of a hearse?
