Shock Cinema Series: SINISTER and MERCY BLACK Drive-In Experience

See two terrifying films by Austin creators for a great cause. It’s a night of scares, prizes, & spooky surprises as we shock Austin.

Tickets are a suggested donation of $15 per guest for 1 or 2 people in a single vehicle, $40 for 3 passengers, and $50 for 4 or more passengers, and 80% of any profit from tickets go directly to our six featured nonprofit programs as a suggested donation.

Each ticket includes popcorn, candy, a soda, voucher for 1 beer from Independence Brewing Company and a can of CLEAN Cause Yerba Mate! (Each guest must present ID proving they’re over 21 years of age to redeem the Independence Brewing Company voucher. Drink vouchers must be redeemed on-site the night of our event.)

What’s scarier than choosing to not support the community or refusing to vote? Probably nothing, but we think watching a scary movie outside in the dark is a close second. Our Shock Cinema Series offers drive-in movies that are sure to leave you electrified and get you in the spirit of Halloween.

Austin, Texas has become a hotbed of horror cinema and it’s time to celebrate it. Shock the Vote ATX and Blumhouse Productions, the mastermind studio that brought you Get OutInsidious, and Halloween (2018), will showcase a drive-in double feature to die for at Community First! Village!

Sinister, written by Austin’s C. Robert Cargill, and Mercy Black, written and directed by Austin’s Owen Egerton, are terrifying entries in the horror genre and sure to make your blood chill. The evening will include a special “Blumhouse Presents” pre-show reel, horror trivia with prizes from Trick or Treat Studios, and a Q&A with Egerton and Cargill, moderated by filmmakers Alex Chew and Carrie Cates.
