Burnet Road Eats Puts Spotlight on North Austin Foodie District

Inside The Peached Tortilla on Burnet

Burnet Road Eats is a dinner series that highlights local dining spots on Burnet Road. On the first Wednesday of the month, each participating restaurant offers a food and drink combination for $10. Burnet Road has been catching up with SoCo and Lamar. The north Austin neighborhood is giving its southern counterparts a run for their money when it comes to dining and entertainment.

Daniela Marcone, owner of Andiamo, is the creator of the Burnet Road Eats series. With 13 years of operating Andiamo in north Austin, the evolution of the dining culture is apparent to Marcone. By creating the event series, she hopes to shine a light on quality local restaurants like The Peached Tortilla and Bufalina Due, as well as Andiamo.

Back in Europe, Marcone would go on tapas tasting adventures with friends. By keeping portions small, she hopes Burnet Road Eats participants can do the same. The pairings offered by participating restaurants are true to each location’s style and cuisine.

Who’s Cooking?

Current Burnet Road Eats participants include The Peached Tortilla, Bufalina Due, and Andiamo Ristorante. More restaurants plan to join starting in October 2017. October additions will include Citizen Eatery, Barley Swine, and Taco Flats.

Read on to find out what you can expect.

Andiamo’s housemade bread is a favorite for many. So it only made sense to ensure the bread was a part of Burnet Road Eats in the form of a sandwich. Swing by Andiamo for their version of a slider. It’s full of Italian sausage and brimming with flavor, accompanied with a glass of wine.

The Peached Tortilla is sticking to its roots by featuring a cocktail special. The eatery plans to introduce different cocktails throughout the Burnet Road Eats series. The drink will be offered with Pork Belly Buns or aother small plate.

The Emerald Dragon, a vodka-based cucumber lime cocktail, and Kimchi Arnacini Balls are front-runners for the next Burnet Road Eats. Whatever the offerings are, you know The Peached Tortilla will deliver.

Seasonal ingredients are Bufalina Dues’ muse. True to style, the current offering for Burnet Road Eats includes a melon and prosciutto salad. With fall approaching quickly, Bufalina Due plans to change the dish. The plan is to change offerings as frequently as possible to keep things fresh for the restaurant’s talented staff.
