Family Garden Day Program – Growing Together in Snake Woman’s Garden

This spring, Caddo Mounds SHS is hosting a series of Family Garden programs. These sessions will focus on key garden concepts while incorporating Caddo culture.

More than that, you’ll be learning about the connection among plants, animals, and humans.

Families will do hands-on activities and taste healthy foods.

History of the Trail Scavenger Hunt

Discover a new and more fun way to explore a nature trail this spring break with the kids with this scavenger hunt adventure!

The scavenger hunt is broken into loops so you can do one or all three.

This fun full-day (8 am-5 pm) camp is for kids aged 5-14. Each day will be filled with activities like fishing, hiking, offsite adventures, and sports.

They’ll also participate in fun team competitions like tug-of-war, obstacle course, or parachute running races in the morning and a multi-sport curriculum in the afternoon.

The kids will also be having a trip to Altitude Trampoline Park and Westgate Lanes.

Celebrate MLK  in Austin, Texas, and commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a series of events throughout January 2025. These events offer opportunities for reflection, action, and community building as residents come together to honor Dr. King’s dream of equality and justice for all.

Austin MLK Day March, Festival, and Food Drive

UPDATE: This event has been postponed until Saturday, Feb. 1 due to inclement weather conditions.

The day starts with a march from the UT campus to the Capitol and ends with the MLK Community Festival at Huston-Tillotson University. (Marchers are encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items to donate to the Central Texas Food Bank.)

After the march, the festival continues featuring live music, vendors, and engaging activities for all ages. Join the community in celebrating Dr. King’s legacy.

Free parking is also available at various locations listed on the Austin MLK website.

The City of Leander, in collaboration with the Leander Public Arts and Culture Commission, will observe and honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a community event themed “Marching Towards A Better Tomorrow.” This event will feature performances by dancers, musicians, and spoken word artists.

Main St. After meeting on the north side of the Courthouse on Seventh Street, there will be a seven-block march to Macedonia Baptist Church, 206 Martin Luther King Jr. St. Participants are asked to start gathering at 11:45 a.m.

The day will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony at the LBJ/MLK Crossroads Memorial, followed by a silent walk to the Hays County Courthouse Square. A keynote address and brief program will be held on the square, culminating in a reception at the Dunbar Recreation Center featuring free food and music.
