Boating on Lake Travis with GetMyBoat.com

Best Lake Travis Boat Rental for Pontoons, Luxury Boats & more!

With long, hot summers, mild winters, and huge reservoir lakes like Lake Travis, Austin has become one of the leading boating cities in the United States. Interest in water sports and recreation has exploded in popularity, and more options are available now for getting out on the water.

Not everyone has a boat or a friend with a boat — but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a way to get on the water and experience all that Austin’s boating scene has to offer. And one great way to compare shops for boat rentals and charters on Lake Travis is with GetMyBoat.

GetMyBoat is a boat rental marketplace with a mobile app with over 200 options available on Lake Travis. The platform connects you with individual boat owners, captains, local charter operators, and marinas. This means you can find great deals, request custom quotes, and shop for boat rentals and experiences for your day on the lake.

Lake Travis Pontoon Boat Rental

Pontoons are a trendy boat rental choice on Lake Travis, thanks to their large deck spaces to host big groups. Prices for pontoon boat rentals start at under $100/hour for vessels that can hold 10 or more people. If you need a party boat on Lake Travis, plan on a pontoon. The average hourly price for a pontoon is about $150/hour on Lake Travis, but many great deals can save you money on a rental.

Ski Boat Rental Lake Travis

Thanks to the popularity of water sports on Lake Travis, a wake boat is another commonly booked vessel on Lake Travis. Sometimes they are called ski boats, and they are great power boats with an inboard propulsion motor that creates the perfect waves for water sports like wakeboarding and surfing.

On average, powerboat rentals on Lake Travis range from $200-400/hour, which might sound a bit pricey, but when you consider how you can split within your group, it starts to look surprisingly affordable!

Luxury Boat Rentals Lake Travis

Luxury yachts on Lake Travis are a popular choice for hosting events on the lake. A captain and crew will come with the price of a luxury yacht charter, and you can enjoy a party onboard or spend time with your family while exploring the lake. Many luxury yacht options will include catering or other amenities, and they are a glamorous way to enjoy Lake Travis.

Pace Bend Park

Pace Bend Park – a popular spot for boaters to venture – overlooks Lake Travis and offers great camping and cliff-jumping opportunities. This park has two main boat ramps — an excellent area for swimming and fishing off your boat.

Make sure you bring cash for the entrance fee if you’re launching your boat from here.

Hippie Hollow Beach

Best known for being the only recognized clothing-optional beach in Texas, Hippie Hollow is an adults-only hangout. It’s great for sunbathing, swimming, and relaxing on your boat or shore.

Many people prefer to experience Hippie Hollow by boat since it is a rocky beach and can be tricky to walk around. Bring water shoes if you have them and plan to explore on shore.

Devil’s Cove

No boating guide to Lake Travis is complete without mentioning Devil’s Cove. This is a famous boat party cove on the lake, where dozens of boats drop anchor and tie up over holiday weekends for an all-day party and fun.

South by Southwest is almost here! The time of year when locals and visitors alike flock to the streets of Austin to celebrate culture, film, music, art, and food. Of course, this year, people across the world are flocking to their phones and computers, because SXSW 2021 is fully online! Although not quite the same as the Austin’s beloved annual (in person) festival, we are so glad that SXSW is still able to happen this year. I’m looking forward to being able to attend and participate in more events than ever before, using their online platform.

SXSW has an incredible history of giving back, something that is near and dear to my heart and so important to me when choosing organizations to support. Every year, they showcase world-changing non-profits from across the globe, invest in the local community, promote human rights, and support environmental protection.
