Austin Fall Craft Fairs

Jump to: Historic Artisan Festivals | Curated Maker Markets | Suburb & Regional Bazaars

Your holiday shopping list doesn’t have to come from the same big-box stores every year. Fall is when Austin’s creative community gets busy, filling plazas, brewery patios, event halls, and neighborhood streets with handmade goods, original artwork, vintage finds, and gifts you won’t see on every shelf.

At Austin fall craft fairs, you can meet the people behind the products, pick up something made right here in Texas, and stumble across the occasional treasure you didn’t know you needed.

Some markets are worth a quick browse; others have enough artists, food vendors, and live entertainment to keep you occupied for hours. Here are some of the best festivals and fairs to watch out for in 2026.

Top Austin Fall Craft Fairs and Historic Artisan Festivals

Fall Pecan Street Festival

You can spend an afternoon meeting the artists behind your favorite finds at the Fall Pecan Street Festival. Every vendor makes their own work, so when you stop at one of the 300+ stalls, you’re buying directly from the person who painted that canvas, carved that piece of wood, shaped that pottery, or crafted those earrings.

You’ll also find metalwork, fiber art, stained glass, candles, and original clothing.

The festival now takes over Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, where 152 acres of open-air space give you plenty of room to wander. Fall 2026 marks just its second year at the new location following 50 years downtown.

Bring a shopping list, or just see what catches your eye as you browse. You can take breaks for live music at the Covert Bee Cave Stage, and kids can enjoy carnival rides and a petting zoo while you shop.

When: September 2026

Blue Genie Art Bazaar

Some holiday gifts deserve more thought than another gift card. At Blue Genie Art Bazaar, you can spend an afternoon picking out handmade presents from around 200 regional artists, with everything from delicate jewelry and colorful glasswork to quirky home accents and beautifully printed textiles.

More than 400 artists apply every year, so the makers you meet here are a carefully selected bunch.

Set aside a little browsing time on Airport Boulevard, because Blue Genie stays open daily from 10 am to 10 pm between November 13 and December 24.

You can check its 15 online categories beforehand, covering ceramics, wood, glass, home decor, body care, fine art, folk art, photography, and more, then head straight for whatever catches your interest.

There’s also a bar and snacks inside when you need a break, and one centralized checkout. Swing by on a Monday and 10% of sales benefit Make-A-Wish of Central and South Texas.

Where: Blue Genie Art Bazaar, 6100 Airport Blvd Ste C, Austin, TX 78752
When: November 13 – December 24, 2026
How Much: Free admission

Austin Studio Tour

Ever wondered what an artist’s workspace looks like when they’re actually making something? The Austin Studio Tour lets you walk right into those spaces.

Across 309 locations, you’ll meet 815 artists, art groups, and hosts over two free November weekends, with opportunities to browse original work, chat with its creators, and watch certain artists demonstrate their craft.

At Ghost Pepper Glass, you can watch live glass-blowing demos. Then, at ART Hub ATX on I-35, more than 130 artists share one roof, so you can spend hours browsing without hopping between addresses.

Meanwhile, ICOSA Collective showcases emerging artists, and Canopy Austin and Redbird Studio give you more studios to explore in South Austin.

If you find a painting you love or a piece of glasswork you’d like to take home, you can buy it directly from its maker without gallery markup.

With 309 locations spread across Austin, though, you’ll want to plan your stops instead of attempting the entire tour (visiting all of them would mean 29 studios an hour!).

Grab the 376-page printed guidebook or map your route at atxstudiotour.com, pick a neighborhood that interests you, and leave some room for unexpected discoveries along the way.

You’ll find an entire market dedicated to Texas women and LGBTQ+ creatives at The Front Market. Future Front Texas has been holding these gatherings since 2016, and the November edition brings 150+ makers together for a weekend of shopping, food, music, and creative activities.

Take your time browsing ceramics from Tranquil Ceramics and Chris Long Ceramics, candles from Burn & Blow Candle Co, botanical goodies from Wadadli Naturals and Eden House Botanicals, vintage embroidery from Future Vagabond, plus jewelry, apparel, art prints, and stationery.

Bring a friend, grab a cocktail, and wander between vendor tables while a DJ keeps the music going.

You can also check out a pop-up gallery featuring artists from Future Front’s residency and join workshops throughout the market.

When you RSVP, you can also donate to the Creative Future of Texas Fund, which provides micro-grants to women and queer creative small businesses across the state.

Where: Moody Amphitheater, 1401 Trinity St, Austin, TX 78701
When: November 21 – 22, 2026

The Austin Flea at Meanwhile Brewing

Spend a Sunday afternoon hunting for vintage treasures, handmade jewelry, ceramics, candles, original artwork, textiles, and home goods at The Austin Flea.

Since 2009, this local pop-up market has kept its vendors close to home and its merchandise handmade or vintage, with every seller personally selected by the organizers. That means you can browse Austin-made goods without wading through mass-produced merchandise or imported catalog finds.

Texas Craft Brewers Festival Artisan Market

A cold Texas craft beer in one hand and a handmade find in the other? That’s the plan at the Texas Craft Brewers Festival, where The Austin Flea returns for a second year with a curated artisan market right on the festival grounds.

Expect local handmade and vintage goods, with henna artists, charm bars, flash tattoo artists, and flower crown makers alongside other creative finds.

It’s a smaller market, but one you can browse between brewery stops rather than setting aside an entirely separate shopping afternoon.

And there are plenty of brewery stops to make. Since 2003, this has been Texas’s largest celebration of independent craft beer, featuring Guild-member breweries rather than national brands.

The 2026 lineup includes Austin favorites (512), Blue Owl, Hold Out, Jester King, Lazarus, Live Oak, Meanwhile, Oddwood, Pinthouse, St. Elmo, Vacancy, and Zilker, plus statewide names like Altstadt in Fredericksburg and Saint Arnold in Houston.

This is strictly 21+, so leave the kids at home and book early. Festival tickets tend to sell out.

Where: East Austin Fiesta Gardens, 2101 Jesse E. Segovia St, Austin, TX 78702
When: November 14, 2026
How Much: Starts at $60.87

Round Rock Mainly Arts Fest

Watching an artist turn a stretch of pavement into an enormous chalk mural is a pretty good excuse to spend a Saturday in Downtown Round Rock.

At Round Rock Arts Fest, artists claim sections of Centennial Plaza and spend the festival creating 8-foot chalk pastel masterpieces right in front of you. They’re competing for prizes of up to $1,500 for Best of Show, so there’s plenty of talent on display.

Stop by while the drawings are still taking shape, then come back Saturday evening to see the finished murals. By Monday, they’ll be washed away.

Apart from that, you can also browse 100+ booths selling art and crafts, catch live music across four stages, or stick around for dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, and acrobatics.

The Oktoberfest area brings German-style beers from Round Rock’s Bluebonnet Beer Company, along with polka music and competitions.

Feeling creative yourself? Other participants like the Cordovan Art School, Round Rock Community Clay, and the Make Music Tent have interactive stations where you can try your hand at making something.

Where: 216 East Main Street, Downtown Round Rock
When: September – December 2026
How Much: Free admission

Downtown Georgetown Market Days

Georgetown Square makes an especially lovely backdrop for a morning of market shopping. Its Victorian-era limestone storefronts date back to the 1800s, and on Second Saturday Market Days, the surrounding streets fill with vendors, food trucks, and live music.

Handmade crafts share the space with cottage food bakers, local boutiques, and vendors selling all sorts of goods.

The October and November markets feature 150–195 vendors, depending on the month.

Keep an eye out for Brothers Grimm Woodworks, Brush Hour Pottery, Bella Soaps ATX, 3rd Piece Leather Works Co, Caprine Artisan Soaps, BMINE Jewelry, Chunky Knit Corner, Cold Sugar Bakehouse, and Georgetown Pie Co.

Once you’ve worked your way through the stalls, the independent cafés and bistros surrounding the square are right there waiting for your lunch plans.

Where: 116 W. 8th St., Georgetown, TX 78626
When: October 10 and November 14, 2026
How Much: Free admission

German-Texan Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt)

Pick up a Christmas ornament that actually came from the German woodcarving region where the tradition began.

At the German-Texan Heritage Society’s Weihnachtsmarkt, ornaments, nutcrackers, wooden toys, Christmas pyramids, and smokers are sourced directly from the Erzgebirge, the Ore Mountains along the German-Czech border.

The Society’s team travels to Germany to bring these pieces back, so you can browse traditional Christmas craftsmanship with a genuine connection to its origins.

You’ll be shopping outdoors in the terraced gardens of the German Free School, an 1857 building that’s Austin’s third oldest and the first school chartered by the Texas Legislature.

Warm up with a cup of Glühwein, say hello to American Santa Claus, and keep an eye out for the traditional German Sankt Nikolaus, too.

Where: German-Texans Heritage Society, 507 E 10th St, Austin, TX 78701
When: December 5, 2026
How Much: $10.38

Know Before You Go: Navigating Austin’s Fall Market Scene

A little planning can save you time, especially when you’re visiting markets outside central Austin.

Several of the area’s biggest fall events take place in neighboring communities, so check the venue address before heading out.

For markets closer to downtown, think about parking before you leave. Waterloo Park and other central Austin venues can get busy during major events, particularly when nearby streets close to traffic.

CapMetro and rideshare services are worth considering if you’d rather avoid searching for a garage or walking several blocks from your parking spot.

A few other things make market days easier:

  • Bring reusable shopping bags. You’ll appreciate having somewhere to put smaller purchases while browsing.
  • Dress for the weather. Outdoor markets can mean hours in the sun, so bring water, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes. A light layer is handy for cooler mornings and evenings.
  • Carry more than one payment option. Many vendors accept cards or mobile payments, but having some cash available is useful.
  • Check the event schedule before leaving. Live music, workshops, demonstrations, and special activities may run at specific times.
  • Look up admission ahead of time. Free markets and ticketed events appear throughout the season, and some offer early-entry passes or advance discounts.

Common Questions About Austin Fall Craft Fairs

Are Austin fall craft fairs pet-friendly?

It depends on the venue. Outdoor markets may welcome leashed dogs, but that doesn’t automatically mean every festival or public gathering allows pets.

The Austin Flea at Meanwhile Brewing specifically welcomes leashed dogs, while indoor shopping venues such as Blue Genie Art Bazaar generally restrict access to service animals.

Check the event’s pet policy before bringing your dog, particularly if the market takes place inside a building or draws large crowds.

Do I need tickets in advance for Austin craft fairs?

Not always. Several popular markets, including the Fall Pecan Street Festival, Blue Genie Art Bazaar, Round Rock Arts Fest, and Georgetown Market Days, offer free admission.

Markets for Makers requires paid admission, with an optional VIP Preview Hour ticket for early shopping. The German-Texan Christmas Market also charges admission, with advance tickets available at a lower price than the door rate.

Check the event’s official ticket page before visiting, especially for limited-entry sessions or events that tend to sell out.

When does the fall craft fair season start in Austin?

October is a particularly busy month for Austin fall craft fairs, with outdoor festivals and community markets filling the calendar.

November brings more artisan markets and the Austin Studio Tour, while December shifts attention toward holiday shopping at events such as the German-Texan Christmas Market and Blue Genie Art Bazaar.
