Beer, Will You Be My Valentine?

Posted on February 2, 2015 by Matthew Champion

Whether you’re celebrating your relationship with your mate or single-handedly revolting against Cupid, there’s plenty of room in your Valentine’s Day for beer, right? It falls on a Saturday this year and those of us in Austin are lucky enough to be surrounded by all kinds of fun, local beer events for the occasion.

Take a beautiful drive out to Texas Hill Country and partake in Twisted X Brewing Company’s Dia De San Valentin, an elegant 5-course meal prepared by the folks at Verde’s Mexican Parilla and paired with special Tex-Mex beers. With course selections like bacon-wrapped quail and chocolate tres leches, the meal is sure to please.

Tickets are going for $130 per pair and include gratuity. They’ll go quickly because the brewery is limiting the event to 15 pairs in order to keep an intimate environment for the occasion. Call Geoff to reserve your spot.

If you’re on your own this year, head to The ABGB and fall in love with some local pups instead. From 12-5 PM, they’ll be throwing a benefit for Austin Pets Alive! that will include local bands, a doggie kissing booth, games, vendors and of course the dogs of Austin Pets Alive!

The ABGB will be releasing the third beer in their APA series, and every pint sold sends a dollar to the good folks at Austin Pets Alive! There’s no cover, but come ready for a crowd and plenty of adorable pups.

Buckle up with the guys at WhichCraft to hit a few local breweries on Valentine’s Day in Austin this year, with beer tasting and private brewery tours included. The Road Trip will depart from WhichCraft at 12 PM and span 7.5 hours at Oasis Brewing Company, Infamous Brewing Company and Save the World Brewing.

Each stop will be roughly 90 minutes and you’ll be shown around by the owners and head brewers. The event isn’t Valentine’s Day themed, it just happens to fall on the 14th, so celebrate as you wish. Tickets are going for $86.65 and are selling fast. Go here to grab yours.

@mattchampionatx wants to know:

Are any of these beer events calling your name for Valentine’s Day?

Disclosure: I am currently employed with Twisted X Brewing Company. All opinions are my own.
