Lovejay Beauty Provides Eco-friendly Experience With Steam Bar, Yoga

One of Austin’s newest beauty stores is unique in several ways. It sells only clean beauty products made from safest, natural ingredients. It’s also more than just a retail store. Lovejay Beauty offers a variety of services from a gemstone steam and mask bar to daily yoga classes. It’s your one-stop shop to get rejuvenated and ready to take on the world.

Thank you to Lovejay Beauty for hosting me and allowing me to try complimentary services for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own.

Blair Wagoner received her Master’s degree in nutrition from The University of Georgia. She was very conscious about what she was eating, and created lists of ingredients she would and would not consume. One day, she read a report that gave details on just how much lipstick the average woman consumes each year. The amount astounded her.

Wagoner made it her mission to learn more about the makeup she was wearing. What ingredients did the products contain, and how bad were they for the body? She used Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep to rank her makeup, and was disappointed to find most of it ranked from moderately to severely hazardous. She bravely threw it all away and started from the ground up.

In 2014, Wagoner launched her first company in Atlanta, Fig & Flower Natural Beauty. After a while, she sold her share of the business and moved to California. There, she earned a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate and became a Reiki practitioner.

In 2017, Wagoner made the decision to move to Austin. When she wasn’t able to find a store like Fig & Flower, she came up with the idea to create what eventually became Lovejay Beauty.

Lovejay Beauty is dedicated to natural beauty products. Wagoner sells a variety, including skincare, cosmetics, hair care, bath and body, and others. But I’ve learned that a trip to Lovejay Beauty is more than just buying your next favorite lip serum or toner. It’s about having an experience.

Here are some of the services offered at Lovejay:

  • Gemstone steam and mask bar
  • Gemstone rolling or Gua Sha
  • NaMasque yoga
  • Organic makeup application
  • Chakra cleansing
  • Reiki

Gemstone Steam and Mask Bar

Gemstone steam and mask bar will leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and clean

I’m a fan of good skincare. And this bar is the best place to get it, along with rest and relaxation. Wagoner currently has two skin treatment options: a self-guided version and another where she conducts the treatment.

The experience starts off with an herbal steam cleanse to open the pores and remove dirt. You can choose a gemstone to use with the steam, which purportedly adds healing properties. I chose amethyst for my steam.

Steam is followed by a mask, which rotates brands from month to month. The mask bar is finished up with Beauty Drops moisturizer and a relaxing facial massage with a gemstone roller.

I received a complimentary gemstone steam and mask bar experience, and felt so much lighter after we finished. My skin was rejuvenated and refreshed! Plus, I had a wonderful time talking with Wagoner throughout the entire time I was there.

NaMasque Yoga

When Lovejay first opened its doors, the local business only offered one class each week, taught by Wagoner herself. Due to popularity, this schedule grew to offer daily classes taught by six instructors–within the first three months of business. My favorite part is there are plenty of late evening classes that fit well with demanding work schedules!

You’ll come to find that NaMasque yoga isn’t like any other yoga class you’ve been to. Attendees get to work on their traditional yoga routines, while also getting the opportunity to experience organic face masks, skin serums, eye treatments, and aromatherapy. It’s the best mixture of spiritual and skin restoration.

Classes are currently donation-based, but keep an eye out for more details on membership programs you can join, for this amazing yoga experience.
