Our Austinot Store doesn’t carry a ton of products, but we’ve put a lot of love into what we offer! This Mother’s Day season, we want to make it easier for you to give your Austin-loving mom something special…with free shipping through May 11th (yes, that’s Mother’s Day!).
To shop now, use our MOMSROCK code at check-out to get rid of shipping charges. Order by midnight on Wednesday, May 7th, to guarantee your gift arrives on time. But the code is good all the way through May 11th. Start here.
If you’re new to the Austinot Store, you should know that it’s relatively new to us too! From the beginning, we resolved to feature items that can only be found through the Austinot, and are always made it Austin.
We launched Fall 2013 after an awesome t-shirt design contest with an amazing grand prize package. Winner Anya Surnina is a local graphic designer, and our friends at Kong Screen Printing brought her design to life in t-shirt form.
The “10 Things About Austin” design shows a collection of ten city landmarks and beloved representations of the city. In the middle of the ten items is the script from the “i love you so much” mural on South Congress. When we went to SoCo to do our photo shoot right after the shirts had been printed, we were excited by the response and by how many people wanted a shirt for themselves!
The second product we added is a bangle bracelet created by Vinca, a popular Austin-based jewelry shop. Amanda at Vinca designed the bracelet around Anya’s “10 Things About Austin” design and it’s an amazing conversation piece!
You may not know that all Austinot writers are volunteers. We all have full-time jobs apart from the Austinot, but we work really hard to keep the blog going in support of the Austin community. The Austinot’s only income comes from the sponsor spots you see on our sidebar, and the Austinot store. When you buy from the Austinot store, you’re not only supporting the Austin businesses that make our products, you’re also helping to keep our doors open.
So thank you! We hope you make mom’s day special this year!
