(Don’t need the back story right now? Our new online store is here!)
This sort of project never wraps up quite as soon as planned. But at long last, I’m excited to announce that the first ever Austinot t-shirts are now available on our site!
Many of you recall that we ran the Austinot T-Shirt Design Contest over the summer, searching for the perfect design that exemplified everything we love about our city. Our winner was Anya Surnina, who won $2,000 worth of amazing local prizes, from laser tag tickets to a party barge on Lake Travis.
We’ve gone through a redesign process, coordinated with our screen printer, designed an online store, and tied up a ton of other loose ends to get to this point! I hope you enjoy the short read through our long journey, and finally seeing our t-shirts at the bottom of this article!
Original T-Shirt Design
Anya’s original Austinot t-shirt design was entitled “Ten Things About Austin:”
Final T-Shirt Design
We really wanted our first t-shirt to be about Austin, not about us. The Austinot team collaborated with some respected friends to decide what text or image should go in the center of the design to replace “austinot.”
Independently of one another, Sandy McCrory, our awesome online store manager, and Ryan Burkhart of Kong Screen Printing both suggested the “i love you so much” graffiti from Jo’s Coffee.
Jo’s Coffee kindly and quickly verified that they didn’t hold a trademark on the graffiti, and Anya was awesome enough to make the graphic design change for us. Behold, the final t-shirt design!

A ton of time and love has gone into these t-shirts, and we hope you enjoy sporting them and giving them to friends.
Here are the shirts we currently have available:
Our shirts are made in the U.S.A. by American Apparel – soft and cozy! See more pictures and close-ups here.
Our Thank You’s
As mentioned, it took an army to complete the design process, print the shirts, and launch our online store. We really want/need to say thank you to some amazing folks who helped us.

T-shirts play an important role in enhancing the personality of a person. One should choose teeshirts according to his personality. Information shared in above blog is truly informative, interesting and commendable.

Congratulations, Anya!!! I truly love your design. At first glance it looks very simple, but checking on its details and prints shows the things that you see when you are at Austin. Simple yet tells a whole lot of story. Very nice!
