1/ Daily Austin Music
Need your daily music news in slim and trim one-minute intervals? Host Colin McDonald has you covered with Daily Austin Music. Album reviews, daily concert picks, animated interviews (one featuring yours truly coming soon), and industry news all served in digestible, bite-sized pieces.
What’s special about Colin is his dedication to the political side of the ATX music scene. Covering and advocating for pro-musician local legislation is huge, and admirable.

2/ KUTX
One of our premiere local radio stations, KUTX serves first-rate programming from the Austin music scene. Its vibrant social media presence is full of interviews, cool photography, and the legendary “Live From Studio 1A” series. It’s a veritable who’s-who of talent from Austin and abroad.
And KUTX posts at least once a day, so there’s no shortage of musical goodness. Support local radio!

3/ Suzanne Cordeiro Photography
Capturing musicians as they ply their craft is magical. Moments of brilliance caught in suspended animation, music photography is a singular art.
With respect and love to the talented local photog community, Suzanne Cordeiro’s Instagram is a must-follow. From local artists to national acts, Suzanne lovingly documents it all. Come for her wonderful Gary Clark Jr. spread; stay for Lizzo shots featured in Rolling Stone.

When searching for a follow-worthy Instagram account, variety is key. With live performances overflowing with color, energy, and magic, Golden Dawn Arkestra is a visual and musical treat. The band’s Instagram account is overflowing with stunning images of amazing shows. And you get the straight dope on upcoming shows, so you can experience these visionaries first-hand.

5/ David Brendan Hall
In his role as the official music photographer for The Austin Chronicle, David Brendan Hall cemented himself as a crucial member of the local photography community. His work is astounding. Swing by any major show in town and you’ll see him shooting away. Adept at capturing movement and energy, his work makes you feel like you’re truly in the action. A must-follow Instagram account if you’re a fan of Austin’s local music scene.

6/ The Austinot (Us!)
Yeah, this is shameless self-promotion, but our social media accounts are a great source of hyperlocal music information and news. Every Thursday, I recommend three shows for the weekend through my Austinot Weekend Concert Picks series, featuring well-known local and underground talent.
And during major events like ACL Music Festival and SXSW, our music coverage explodes–especially on Instagram. We love Austin music and sharing it with others!
