Best Flea Markets in Austin: Family-Friendly Favorites

Austin Country Flea Market

If you want a real, no-frills Texas flea market experience, Austin Country Flea Market delivers every single weekend.

This East Austin staple has been around since 1983, and with over 300 vendor booths spread across covered, paved walkways, you could easily spend half a day just wandering.

You’ll dig through auto parts, cowboy boots, furniture, fresh produce, jewelry, tools, Western wear, and clothing, and prices here are genuinely some of the cheapest you’ll find anywhere in Austin.

Clothing and accessories typically run anywhere from $5 to $30, tools and auto parts can go for just a few dollars, and even furniture pieces tend to land well below retail. Haggling is expected and welcomed, so bring cash (the market is cash-only)

They even have food on-site, which is well worth the trip as well. Think roasted corn, funnel cakes, turkey legs, micheladas, and tacos.

  • Insider tips: Show up before 10 AM, and you park for free. The $2 fee only kicks in once the gates officially open.
  • Location: 9500 US-290, Austin, TX 78724
  • Hours: Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Marketplace Austin

This fully air-conditioned North Austin indoor market hosts over 100 vendors under one roof, and you can browse apparel, electronics, traditional Mexican crafts, home decor, and furniture without breaking a sweat.

You’ll also find on-site services like a salon and tattoo shop, making it a one-stop destination for more than just shopping.

Prices here are on the affordable side. Most clothing items run between $5 and $40, everyday household goods and décor typically land under $25, and vendors are generally open to negotiating, especially if you’re buying multiple items.

When your feet need a break, the indoor food hall has you covered with authentic Mexican street food, and there’s a sports bar on the east side if you want to kick back with a drink.

  • Insider Tip: The market sits tucked at the back of a large parking lot. If you’re driving, look for the signs past the main road, or you’ll miss the entrance entirely.
  • Location: 10601 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78753
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm | Friday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

812 Outdoor Market

Best flea markets in Austin - 812 Market

You haven’t experienced Austin’s flea market scene until you’ve been to 812 Outdoor Market or as the locals call it, La Pulga.

For just $2 at the door, you get access to 100+ vendor booths packed with tools, clothing, plants, household goods, fresh produce, handmade crafts, and items you’d typically only find in Mexico.

Prices here are seriously low. Fresh produce and basic goods often go for just $1 to $5, clothing runs from around $5 to $20, and tools and household items are similarly cheap. Most transactions are cash-based, so come prepared, and there’s an on-site ATM if you need one.

If you’re up for a party, Sunday afternoons are the best time to go. You’ll find live Norteña and regional Mexican bands taking the stage and food trucks start rolling out shrimp tacos, tacos de chivo, micheladas, and cold beer.

So, go early to shop, stay late to dance, and eat your way through the food trucks while you’re at it.

  • Insider tips: Do your shopping in the morning when it’s cool and the selection is full, then stay for the live music and dancing that starts picking up after 4 PM on Sundays.
  • Location: 8714 FM812, Austin, TX 78719
  • Hours: Saturday: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm | Sunday: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm

Kyle Flea Market

Kyle Flea Market is absolutely worth the trip, and once you’re there, you’ll wish you had more time.

Vinyl records, vintage clothing, Funko Pops, rare coins, belt buckles, handmade crafts, plants, furniture, video games, books, and everyday goods all share the same floor. And the prices stay very affordable.

Most clothing and small collectibles run between $2 and $20, while larger items like furniture pieces or appliances typically fall in the 30–100 range depending on condition. Cash is preferred, though many vendors do accept digital payments.

After you’ve done your rounds, downtown Kyle is just a mile away with solid dining options like Taste on Main and Willie’s Grill & Icehouse nearby for a proper post-market meal.

  • Insider tips: Don’t turn onto Marketplace Ave. The name is misleading, and it doesn’t connect to the parking lot. Stay on Frontage Rd and turn right directly into the entrance.
  • Location: 1119 S. Old Hwy 81, Kyle, TX 78640
  • Hours: Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Collector’s Flea Markets and Vintage Sales in Austin

City-Wide Vintage Sale

Running since 1977 and now nearly 50 years strong, this is Austin’s largest and longest-running vintage market.

Held about 10 times a year at the Palmer Events Center, it covers a massive 45,000 square feet of curated vendors from across Texas and beyond.

You’ll walk through racks of vintage clothing, rare cowboy boots, mid-century furniture, vinyl records, antique jewelry, rugs, quilts, lamps, collectibles, and genuinely unexpected finds.

Prices span a wide range. Small items like jewelry, accessories, and vintage clothing often start around 5–30, while mid-century furniture pieces can run anywhere from $100 to several hundred dollars depending on rarity.

Savvy shoppers report that Sunday tends to bring the best deals as vendors start marking things down. But, get there early on Saturday if you want first pick, because the rare stuff moves fast and the dedicated vintage hunters who’ve been coming here for decades know exactly what they’re doing.

  • Insider tips: Sign up for the email list at their website before you go. Subscribers get $1 off admission.
  • Location: 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704
  • Hours: Saturday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm | Sunday: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

uncommon FLEA

Clear your last Sunday of the month, because uncommon FLEA is the kind of market you won’t want to rush through.

Held in the backyard of the legendary Uncommon Objects antique shop at 1602 Fortview Rd., this free monthly market brings together over 30 vendors selling vintage finds, handmade goods, folk art, oddities, and curiosities that you genuinely won’t find anywhere else in Austin.

After the market, step right into Uncommon Objects itself for even more eclectic antique hunting. South Lamar is one of Austin’s most vibrant and walkable strips, so great coffee shops, restaurants, and bars are all within easy reach.

  • Insider tips: This market only happens once a month on the last Sunday, and it wraps up at 3 PM sharp, so if you sleep in, you’ll miss it entirely until next month.
  • Location: 1602 Fort View Rd, Austin, TX 78704
  • Hours: Sunday: 10::00 am – 3:00 pm

South Congress Avenue is already one of Austin’s most exciting streets, and SoCo Makers Market makes it even better.

This weekly outdoor market features rotating local makers and vintage vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, upcycled fashion, ceramics, leather goods, candles, artwork, and prints, all from Austin-based creators.

Here, you can expect most jewelry and smaller handmade items to land between $15 and $60, with wearable fashion and larger art pieces ranging higher.

The best part? You’re already in the middle of one of Austin’s best dining and shopping neighborhoods. Home Slice Pizza, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, and Güero’s Taco Bar are all an easy walk away, so turning your market visit into a full afternoon out is practically effortless.

  • Insider tips: Skip the car entirely. Parking on South Congress on weekends is brutal, and the whole strip is walkable once you’re there.
  • Location: 1501 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
  • Hours: Friday – Saturday:10:00 am – 5:00 pm | Sunday: 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm

The Austin Flea

The Austin Flea has been doing things right since 2008, and the secret to its staying power is simple: every single vendor is hand-picked.

That means no imported goods, no mass-produced items, just original artwork, handmade jewelry, candles, textiles, pottery, bath and body products, and vintage finds from Austin’s best local makers.

The market rotates venues each weekend, so you might find them in brewery courtyards, restaurant outdoor spaces, and beer gardens across the city.

Because the venue changes weekly, check austinflea.net the morning you plan to go. Locations are sometimes posted same-day.

When the market lands at Jester King (a favorite location), you’re in for something special: shop alongside farmhouse ales, live music, and food trucks on a gorgeous Hill Country ranch.

  • Insider Tip: Don’t leave home without checking austinflea.net or their Instagram first. Locations are sometimes posted same-day and change every week.
  • Location: The Austin Flea pops up at local breweries and venues across Austin

Black Makers Market is one of Austin’s most vibrant and community-driven shopping experiences, and if you haven’t been yet, you’re genuinely missing out.

Every month, this free nonprofit market brings together over 40 curated Black-owned businesses. Shop handmade jewelry, natural skincare, fashion, candles, art, and specialty food from local entrepreneurs who pour real heart into what they create.

Locations also rotate monthly, so check blackmakersmarket.org before you head out. Special editions around Juneteenth, Black History Month, and the holidays bring even bigger vendor lineups, and those are absolutely worth planning around.

  • Insider Tip: The annual Juneteenth celebration is their biggest event of the year, drawing 40+ vendors. If you can only make one Black Makers Market event, make it that one.
  • Location: The Black Makers Market pops up at local breweries and venues across Austin
  • Hours: Varies
