January is the perfect time to dream about warmer days by the water. Or, better yet, on the water. This weekend at the Austin Convention Center, the Austin Boat and Travel Trailer Show has corralled practically everything you need for outdoor fun in Central Texas.

Whether you’re planning to make a big purchase this year, you have questions for the future, or you just love to look at fun stuff, this event will be perfect for you. The Austin Boat and Travel Trailer Show is really bringing together the best names in the industry to put on this must-see show.

Boat Dealers

  • Austin Boats and Motors
  • Boat Town
  • Central Texas Water Sports
  • Lake LBJ Marineland
  • Sail and Ski Center
  • South Austin Marine
  • Texas Sailing
  • The Ski Dock

Wakeboarding on Lake Austin

Travel Trailer Dealers

There will also be a huge collection of exhibitors related to exploring the outdoors. Some of the ones I’m most excited about are Austin Canoe & Kayak, Texas State Parks and Woody RV Rentals (which we’ve heard wonderful things about from a local blogging friend!). See the full list of awesome exhibitors here.

Seminars

Texas Parks and Wildlife is facilitating the Boating Safety Education course that is required by Texas law. It’s taking place on Saturday and you can hear all the details by listening to our podcast episode. It’s recommended that your register ahead, and the contact for that is Tim Spice at (512) 389-8141.

Austin Power Squadron will be teaching two courses over the weekend. “Boat Handling Under Power” takes place today, and “Using Marine GPS” takes place on Sunday. The contact number for Austin Power Squadron is (512) 343-BOAT.

@QuasiBrit asks:

What is your favorite way to enjoy the outdoors when the weather gets warm/hot?

    What a shame we missed it! I’m sure it definitely draws thousands just to see the whole show…
