Food and history are the key ingredients at Taste of Black Austin, an intimate reception to be held at Peached Social House on Jan. 31, 2017. The event is hosted by Greater Black Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit organization that promotes the development of African American businesses. Tickets are now available to the general public.
Taste of Black Austin Event Details
Twelve of Austin’s black chefs will be showcasing small bites and their take on Austin cuisine. A photo exhibition will follow. Local culinary greats will be in attendance, such as:
- Tavel Bristol-Joseph, Emmer & Rye
- Sharon Mays, Baby Greens
- Ilbersalle Fallon, Niella Catering
- Hoover Alexander, Hoover’s
Event tickets are available for $65. Community sponsor tickets run for $120 and include a VIP cooking class before the reception. A portion of the proceeds from Taste of Black Austin will benefit Urban Roots, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and educating Austin youths with a healthier lifestyle.
