Imagine a luxurious retreat into fantasy and wonder. The lanterns flicker as you descend into a realm of exotic music and sights. It is an empire of decadence and earthly delights.

On Wednesday, September 25th, Austin Influential Group is hosting The Dream of the Red Chamber. If you have never heard of the Austin Influential Group, you are really missing out. They are a team of Austin-loving individuals who do big things that make the ATX weird and wonderful.

The Dream of the Red Chamber event is a dive into the seductive world of opium dens and hedonism. More importantly, though, it is a benefit for Waterloo Counseling, a provider of affordable counseling and mental health resources for thirty years.

What You Will Experience

The Dream of the Red Chamber is a sampling of culture, music and art from the most exciting regions of the world. The sun never sets on this trans-continental pleasure excursion.

The Middle East

Welcome to the land of Ali Baba and his forty thieves. You, like the famous treasure hoarders themselves, will say, “Open Sesame,” to untold riches and excitement.

You’ll find yourself greeted by multiple Middle Eastern minstrals and musical acts. As you enjoy the thick, delicious smoke in the hookah lounge, Austin’s own ATASH will lull you into a haze.

In addition to the hookah lounge and music, you will have the opportunity to enjoy Turkish coffee and fortune telling throughout the night.

The Orient

Feast your eyes and ears on the lavish Qing Dynasty. Much of Asian history is defined by the rise and fall of empires. The royal families and its courts lived in luxury within opulent rooms that still stand today.

The Dream of the Red Chamber will be your pass across the globe and through time. Courtesans entertain and entice you as you sip refreshing sangrias in silk-laden chambers.

France

Walk with some of the world’s sultriest and most exciting Parisians. Sailors will walk among the crowd throughout the night. Be prepared to hear tales of the high seas, adventure and lands that defy imagination!

You will be surrounded by traditional food, music and culture. Imagine dining, dancing, and laughing in an environment as luxurious as the palace of Versailles or, more appropriately, the Moulin Rouge.

The night will be filled with spectacles and wonders that transcend what you thought could be possible at a charity event. The mistress of ceremonies is the Breathless LaBelle. She will lead you through your sensual odyssey with song and direction. There will be films from across the world, glimpses through the eyes of artists looking to express their native culture.

There is also a reserved VIP package that includes a jewel-laden personal booth (and much more). The Dream of the Red Chamber will take place at Swan Dive, 615 Red River St.
