To say that the Lonestar Round Up is just another Austin car show is a crime, and this week’s Austinot podcast means to prove it to you.
This weekend only, this vintage car show and music festival takes over the Travis County Expo Center, filling it with the best in amazing rides, toe-tapping tunes, food and drink, and even shopping.
Make no mistake, these folks are purists. Car registration is open only to 1963 and earlier traditionally-styled American hot rods, custom cars and traditionally-styled bikes. No imports are allowed. No cars newer than 1963 are allowed.
No exceptions.
Admission is $10 at the gate, 12 and under free.
But it doesn’t stop there. There’s music in SoCo starting at 5:45 PM tonight and tomorrow at Jo’s Coffee. The Continental Club and Trophy’s Bar will also feature sets all weekend long, starting tonight.
As vintage car connoisseurs show up for the music, they park their vehicles on South Congress and allow kids like us to stroll along and take the classic beauty in.
