Yesterday, we got to pick up our matching 2011 Raleigh Roadsters from The Peddler.
The Peddler is located at 51st/Duval, close to the UT Intramural Fields. I love shopping local, and The Peddler is definitely a local bike shop.
My husband and I went in a couple of weeks ago for the first time. We determined that we wanted upright bicycles for casual riding, and Ron directed us to the Raleigh Roadsters. In 2011, Raleigh made a 3-speed and an 8-speed Roadster. Ron sent us out to test-drive both of these models.
Through our test-drive, Eric and I decided that we both wanted the 8-speed for more versatility. (Interesting note: As of 2012, Raleigh only makes a 3-speed Roadster.)
My husband wanted us to have matching bikes (=adorable), so we special ordered from Raleigh. After a very impatient week+ on our part, our Roadsters finally came in and we walked to The Peddler yesterday to pick them up!
Adam helped us and he was really generous with his time and advice. He helped us get our serial numbers into our owners manuals, install the front and rear night lights that we brought with us, and install our kickstands (yeah, we’re little kids with our kickstands).
We finally got out the door to ride home, and Eric managed to break his kickstand off in the parking lot. It was pretty hilarious. Even though Eric admitted it was his fault, the guys at The Peddler gave us another free kickstand. Pretty stellar customer service, if you ask me.
We have a year of free tune-ups at The Peddler after purchasing from them, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot more about biking and being a long-time customer of this local Austin bike shop!

Not Bicycle Sport Shop. Bicycle Sport Shop is a separate entity, located on south Lamar, and north 183.

Haven’t been there, but we were really happy with our experience at the Peddler.
