Ice Rodeo by Four Season

Peppermint Parkway
The Circuit of the America’s will come to life this holiday season with a one-mile drive-thru display of lights as well as a plaza full of music, food, and magic on select nights.
You can interact with live characters at The Parkway including dancing gingerbread men, roller-skating snowflakes, and everyone’s favorite holiday grump, the Grinch. Then, you can climb up the COTA Candy Cane, COTA’s 251-ft tall observation tower where you can enjoy views of the Parkway and illuminated Austin skyline.
This year, a new addition to the event is the opportunity to pick up your own Christmas tree from Wonder Woods. If you’re up for some food and shopping, you can visit the new Holiday Market where you can get homemade sweet treats, gifts, and holiday swag for the kids.
If you’re a race fan, you can also join the Candy Cane Cruise where you can take your own car for an exclusive parade lap on COTA’s famous 3.41 mile FIA–grade Formula 1 track.

The Annual Lighting of the Square
Experience magic in Georgetown in its annual Lighting of the Square!
The event is usually held the next Friday after Thanksgiving and it’s one that will surely wake up the holiday cheer in you. The entire square will be filled with beautiful lights. You can take some gorgeous photos or sing along to uptown carolers under the lights. The downtown shops will be open late, so plan to get in some unique holiday shopping.

Holiday Model Train Exhibit
Do your kids love trains or at least trains decked out in holiday decor? Then head out to the Tom Foolery Arcade at the Kalahari resorts!
They’ll be holding their annual holiday model train exhibit. Here, the kids can participate in scavenger hunts, become junior engineers, and enter a raffle for a Lionel Thomas the Tank engine set.

Watch the classic holiday film “The Polar Express” with the family this weekend at the pasture of Jester King Brewery from the comfort of your car seats!
The movie is about a young boy who boards a magical train headed to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. During this ride, he goes on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
Please take note that the driver plus all the passengers must purchase a ticket. Also, outside food or beverage is not allowed. If you do get hungry, the venue has a food truck available. Please remember to also keep your headlights off. You can run your vehicle if it’s quiet and has clean exhaust but otherwise, no headlights.

Blood Over Texas: Horror for the Holidays 8

56th Zilker Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
Get ready to feel the holiday spirit with the largest man-made holiday tree in Austin!
Standing at 155 feet tall, the tree is made of over 3000 lights and built on one of Austin’s 17 historic moontowers. Access to the holiday tree is free and separate from the Trail of Lights admission.
Aside from the spectacular lighting of the tree, there will be food vendors and other merchants at the site to make sure you really feel the cheer of the holiday season.

Holiday Art on the Lawn at Neil-Cochran House Museum
Kick off the holidays with a little bit of art at the Holiday Art on the Lawn of the Neil-Cochran House Museum.
Enjoy free access to the Museum’s lawn and shop for unique gifts and art pieces from Austin-based artists. While you shop, the kids can enjoy a fun plate painting activity. A portion of the sales proceeds will benefit the Neil-Cochran House Museum.
