Every June, members of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrate Pride month with various events in honor of the Stonewall riots of 1969, which was a major catalyst of the gay liberation movement. Celebrations pop up all month long and can come in the form of small events, parties, and parades.  We’ve gathered up plenty of events for Austin Pride 2022!

Note: Allies are welcome to many of these events — it’s nice to show support!


Austin Pride 2022 Celebration – Beyond Rainbow!

With over 400,000 attending in 2019, this year’s event happening after a gap of 2 years will be even BIGGER! You have come to expect amazing entertainment from Austin PRIDE and this year will be no exception!!

Join Austinites as they take to the streets to celebrate pride and equality. The annual parade and festival usually begins at the Texas State Capitol, runs down Congress Avenue and concludes in the Warehouse District. Austinites, students, local organizations, visitors, allies, live performers, celebrities, floats and more will create a spectacle unmatched by any other local event. This is the best way to conclude a week of celebrations so head downtown early to get a prime spot for viewing!

The UMLAUF’s bi-monthly After Dark event happening on the first Tuesday of the month and featuring live music, beer from Austin Beerworks and cocktails from Tito’s! Join in for a special Pride Night at this June’s UMLAUF After Dark, featuring performing artist Caleb DeCasper!

Celebrate National Pride Month at Waterloo Park with the return of Waterloo Greenway’s Rainbow on the Creek.  This is a free family-friendly celebration that connects, educates, and celebrates Austin’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQIA+) community. The daylong celebration will include 25+ activations by LGBTQIA+ nonprofits and partners, a Queer BIPOC and Latinx artisan & craft market, gender-affirming care & sexual health resources, and many more activities for the whole family.

Pflugerville Pride Parade

Pflugerville Pride’s Inaugural Pride Pfestival will bring together & celebrate the wonderful diversity that is our LGBTQ+ community and allies. The event will include an awesome street festival with local vendors, food & drinks, a family pfun zone, and the main stage that will feature live music, LGBT comedians, and our Headliner Tammie Brown! We also will have multiple indoor venues surrounding the festival where we’ll have an adult panel on LGBT+ issues, a Teen Open Mic Event, drag shows, and a silent auction. Since parking is limited downtown, we’ll be offering free shuttle service from Pflugerville High School.

Razzle Dazzle Upcycle Event & Queer Art Show

Dougherty Arts Center will be celebrating Austin’s LGBTQ+ community by hosting the free event, Razzle Dazzle Upcycle Event & Queer Art Show! Before you toss them out, bring your rags to the DAC’s mini-upcycle event and give them a second chance to shine! Bedazzle and add patches to your acid-washed jean jacket; make a tote-bag and peek-through clothing out of your old T-Shirts; or take part in our all-gender clothing swap! Experience the pop-up, Razzle Dazzle Queer Art Show featuring artwork from different local LGBTQ+ artists of all ages! This show will only be viewable by the public during this event!

The festival is put together by the Colors of Pride steering committee, in partnership with Austin Latinx Pride, Austin Queer Asians, aGLIFF, Chrysalis Q, QWELL Community Foundation and Unhushed. The committee says that this will be a “can’t miss event for QTPOC everywhere.” At the festival, attendees can enjoy a QTPOC popup market, live music, speakers and a free communal meal. For kids, there is a children’s play area open from 12-3 p.m.

Featuring a line-up of Central Texas locals who support the LGBTQIA community, musical performances by local bands and other celebrities will make this an event like no other. Proceeds from this event go to the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Education Fund a 501c3.

Breakfast tacos, Tex-Mex, and barbecue. The three points of the foodie Texas Trinity. Arguably the tip of this triangle of tasty treats, barbecue fandom goes beyond intense. Tell somebody you prefer Rudy’s over Franklin’s and prepare for battle.

But barbecue doesn’t stop with Central Texas. The Lone Star State is flush with some of the finest pitmasters in the world, 31 of whom will be attending the 10th Annual Texas Monthly BBQ Festival on Nov. 3, 2019, at the Long Center.

Six local masters of meat will be representing Austin (more than any other major city). In true hyperlocal fashion, here’s our guide to each and every one of them. H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks

Spend this Independence Day with your family and friends, decked out in red, white, and blue. Head down to Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores) this July 4th for an amazing event complete with a fireworks display over the city skyline backed by symphonic patriotic classics. Rock Rock Texas knows how to celebrate Independence Day!  They will celebrate Tuesday, July 4, 2023, with a full day of patriotic festivities including a parade, festival, carnival, music, and fireworks.

The 2023 Annual Sertoma Independence Day Parade is bigger and better than ever and will once again feature giant helium and cold air inflatables, community groups, and patriotic spirit.  This parade will take place on the 1.5-mile route along Mays Street between Mays Crossing and Highway 79.  The parade will start at 8:30 am to beat the heat so arrive early to find the best seat to watch and celebrate!

Belton’s Fourth of July Celebration

With an estimated 30,000+ people lining the streets, and a live televised broadcast reaching around the world, the 100-year tradition of the Belton 4th of July Celebration will include a 1 1/2 mile parade route running south on Main Street (FM317) from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to the Bell County Courthouse, then east on Central Avenue, and north on Birdwell to the Belton Police Memorial. Definitely some of the Austin fourth of July events you can’t miss!

Wells Branch FourthFest Parade and Activities

Neighbors and friends will gather at Liberty Hill Middle School on July 3rd to celebrate freedom in the most patriotic way. Residents engage in friendly competition for the coveted blue ribbon in challenges like the Homemade Apple Pie contest, Watermelon Seed Spitting contest, and the Hot Dog Eating contest. Children play in the Radical Run Obstacle Course, ride the trackless train, and jump on the Velcro wall at this July 4th event.

H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert & Fireworks is back! Spend this Independence Day with your family and friends, decked out in red, white and blue. Head down to Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores) this July 4th for an amazing event complete with a fireworks display over the city skyline backed by symphonic patriotic classics. This event is planned, produced, and performed entirely by the Austin Symphony Orchestra, with the help of its generous sponsors. The festivities begin at 8 p.m. with Master of Ceremonies welcoming dignitaries and special guest. Concert begins at 8:30 p.m., followed by “mile-high” fireworks.

Join the City of Kyle in celebrating the Fourth of July with the Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show on Monday, July 4. The fireworks show will last approximately 20 minutes. The city has also arranged a special treat in partnership with radio station KAZI 88.7 FM to stream music as you watch the show.

July 4 Celebration at San Gabriel Park

The 39th annual Sertoma Club Family July 4 Celebration and fireworks display will be held at San Gabriel Park Monday, July 4. The event is sponsored by the Georgetown Sertoma Club with assistance from the City of Georgetown.

Activities begin at 11 a.m. at San Gabriel Park and will include live entertainment from noon to 10:30 p.m., featuring T. Cole and the Austin Party Band before and after the fireworks show. The festival also includes arts and crafts vendors, food vendors including a beer and wine vendor, a petting zoo, classic and antique cars, games, and rides for children and adults. Admission to the event is free; however, there are fees for some activities. Please do not bring dogs to the fireworks show.

The 2022 Annual Sertoma Independence Day Parade is bigger and better than ever and will once again feature giant helium and cold air inflatables, community groups and patriotic spirit. This parade will take place on the 1.5 mile route along Mays Street between Mays Crossing and Highway 79. The parade will start at 8:30am to beat the heat so arrive early to find the best seat to watch and celebrate!

Belton’s Fourth of July Celebration

Get ready for the Belton 4th of July Celebration! Since the 1850s folks from all over Texas have come to celebrate the 4th of July in Belton. This week-long celebration draws over 50,000 and features one of USA Today’s Top Ten Parades in the country!

Wells Branch FourthFest Parade

The Wells Branch MUD Parks and Recreation Department is excited to once again celebrate the Fourth of July with one of our most beloved community traditions. The FourthFest parade will kick off at 10:00 am from Katherine Fleischer Park. Guests are encouraged to line the streets and show off your patriotic pride in this long-time tradition!

Liberty Hill’s Independence Day Spectacular

Neighbors and friends will gather at Liberty Hill Junior High on July 3rd to celebrate freedom in the most patriotic way. Residents engage in friendly competition for the coveted blue ribbon in challenges like the Homemade Apple Pie contest, Watermelon Seed Spitting contest and the Hot Dog Eating contest. Children play in the Radical Run Obstacle Course, ride the trackless train and jump on the Velcro wall.

The activities pause mid-evening for the Beach Ball Drop. Thousands of hands raise in the air as children try to catch one of the hundreds of beach balls that fall from the sky, just before the headliner band kicks off.

The evening’s festivities conclude with a spectacular  fireworks show.

The tradition continues! Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks is returning this summer after going virtual in 2021. America’s beloved icon Willie Nelson, who created this annual event in 1972, is bringing a star-studded lineup to the new Q2 Stadium in Austin, TX, home of Austin FC of MLS, on Monday, July 4. The event will feature Willie Nelson & Family, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Tyler Childers, Brothers Osborne, Midland, Charley Crockett, Allison Russell, Particle Kid, Steve Earle & the Dukes, and Asleep at the Wheel.

City of Hutto’s 4th of July Celebration

This FREE, family-friendly celebration of our nation will feature live music, local vendors and food trucks, kids’ activities, a fireworks show, and more! Weather permitting.
The City is requesting that attendees RSVP to the event via Facebook, however it is not required. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Brushy Creek Amphitheater but attendees are encouraged to take advantage of free shuttles available at Hutto High School.
Live music kicks off with Micah Marcos before the Steph Cash Band rocks the stage. David Beck’s Tejano Weekend will bring their unique Tejano sound to the stage before Bri Bagwell caps off the evening. Following the live music, attendees can enjoy the City’s largest fireworks show of the year.
