Every Sunday, the HOPE Farmers Market sets up at Pine Street Station, just east of downtown. It won’t take you long to acknowledge that the HOPE Market lives up to its name: Helping Other People Everywhere.
We have wonderful farmers markets across Austin, each unique in its own way and offering something special to the community.
But what sets HOPE Farmers Market apart is that it has had a measurable mission since the beginning: “Uniting Austin through food, art, music and community.”
On a Sunday at HOPE Farmers Market, you may see…

- Yoga sessions that you’re welcome to take part in

In our podcast episode, we spotlight two highlights of this Sunday’s market that we’ve learned about. There is so much going on at HOPE, but this will give you a taste!
Coolhaus’ new, top-secret flavor
First, our friends at Coolhaus are debuting a new flavor of ice cream in honor of National Ice Cream day. I can’t spoil the surprise, but you’re in for a treat (pun intended). I’m sure Coolhaus will continue to live up to its reputation for innovative and one-of-a-kind flavors, and they’ll be offering discounts on ice cream all day at HOPE Farmers Market.
Second, 23 year old Sophie Eckrich and her team at Teysha will be selling Kuna Kicks. We love the story here. Sophie travels to Panama, where she purchases authentic fabric from the Kuna people. She then has unique shoes created from the fabric, by the indigenous shoe makers there. When you support Kuna Kicks, you’re supporting the art of the Kuna women in Panama and providing them with a sustainable livelihood.

This Sunday, Teysha will give HOPE Market visitors the chance to participate in Project Twist. Take an organic Texas cotton t-shirt printed with local art, and put your own twist on it. I’m gonna go ahead and say that your part has something to do with tye-dye, and how can that not be awesomely fun?
Keep in mind that what’s going on with Coolhaus and Teysha this Sunday is only a small part of all you can see at HOPE Farmers Market. Get yourself down to Pine Street Station at 414 Waller St. The Market runs from 10 AM-2 PM.
